Joy in the mail!

Last Tuesday I received a note in the mail to say to pick up a parcel from the PO...so off I went.....they couldn't find the parcel and I was told to return later in the day.....so I did....no parcel....I was told to come back the next day......so I called in before work....still not here...mmmmm....so I called in after work...no still can't find it...finally the lady at the counter looked up the reference number and said "Oh...it was here 9.30 Tuesday morning"...."I will take a copy of the collection card and ring you when we find it, things are a bit hectic out the back!" I called in again Friday after work, no phone call, but I wanted to pick up another parcel and surprise!!! I was given the missing parcel and the new one!! Thank goodness as I knew it was from my post crossing friend Jessica in the Netherlands and I would be so upset if it got all the way to Australia and then it got lost in the local post office!! Jessica sends beautiful presents and this one is no different...
isn't this a beautiful box? This is the underneath...it is the same on the sides and top...

and this is what you see when you open the box....just so beautifully presented...I am trying to be strong and to wait for Christmas..but it is not easy!!! I have had a little touch!!

I have also has my Santa Sack Swap here for several weeks, and even thought I have shaken and felt and prodded (gently!) I have resisted opening...but I see I now can, so later today I will!! Yahoo!! My swap partner is Jeannette from New Zealand...

Jeannette knows I love purple....love the ribbon and the tiny pin cushion! I am off to open presents!

FNSI

Well thank goodness it was cooler last night...I even had a goosebump or three!! So much better than the night before! I got some things done so I was happy
a stitchery is traced and ready to be started

I finally got to applying the gold and silver to the Christmas wall hanging....I put the glue on 3 days ago....luckily it stays sticky!!

gave the polar bear some silver on his head, some parts are too thick but the glue went runny on me and blobbed....ah well!!

gave Mt Fox some silver around the head....

some gold on the Christmas tree....

and silver on the shading on the wolf and bear...now for the hanging sleeve and label!!

and the I did some binding sewing on the kookaburra quilt...I had about 8 inches to go at 11.30 last night but had to stop...finished it off in bed this morning!! Now for a label and hanging sleeve here too! Feeling quite pleased to be getting a little closer to finished!

Pop over here to see what other FNSI people got done and a big thanks you to Wendy for being host Momma!

Day out

Yesterday I had a lovely day out with the toy voyagers...MooseS is from Finland and one of his missions was to visit a zoo, so off we went....
trying here to get a photo of the seal, but it was too quick for me!!

tiger wandering past...

Mmmmmmmm.....me looking at you looking at me!! Lol!!

"Lots of entertainment today...I'll just watch those strange beings go by!"

butterflies in the house.....

and I got to see the new baby!! How special is that??

He stayed very close to Mum up the back of the enclosure...he looked tiny compared to the others..

smaller of the three giraffe...

liked this sign in the Australian section!
and of course a visit to he Zoo is not complete with out a look at my favourites.....these guys were just hanging out, one grooming the other...they looked very relaxed!
and stitchery is finished and ready to go to it's new home! Always a good feeling to get something completed!!

Weekend happenings

I had a quiet but great weekend at St Leonard's....lots of reading, sewing, walking, and yep eating!!
my project for the weekend...sew on all the bits!!

Saturday morning at St Leonard's...beautiful!

Sunday morning I went to Ocean Grove for a walk on the beach...all these people were on their boards out behind the breakers...don't know what they were doing but it looked like very hard work...oohh I think there are spots on my camera lens!!

spectacular clouds out to sea...

lots of people and dogs walking and running and chasing balls....(not that you can see them here Lol)

most amazing clouds over the headland, this photo does not do the justice, they were a wonderful purpley blue

sorry about the spots again, I had better go and clean the camera lens!!

amazing clouds again looking from the car park towards the beach

then the weather went to custard, I woke up Monday to a thunder storm and it rained all morning and most of the way home....Geelong was all gray...this is one of my last look at the water views heading home and usually it is better than this!! Ah well, I had a relaxing weekend so can not complain!
