Fabric frenzy

Today I had to take Shane to Waurn Ponds to meet up with friends.....they are off to the music festival that has been moved from the Otways  to Torquay because of the bush fire there....I looked for a cache near there but apart from being ripped to bits by bushes didn't have any luck. There is a beautiful old blue stone bridge at the cache site with a two lane road on one side and a huge over bridge over the top, and another two lane road on the other side...kind of forgotten.
On the way home I stopped at Spotlight as they have a 40% sale happening and had a fabric frenzy!!!!  I was very happy to find some fabric at $4.00 and $6.00 a meter. I am set up for a good while now, unless I see something I can't live without!!!! Lol!!!!
love this next fabric...shame blogger has decided to put it upside down!!!!!

love the little orangutan peeking over the little elephant.
Off to pat my stash!!!!
Happy sewing.

It is a beautiful shawl from Diane...it is beautiful Diane, thank you I love it...the colours are me!! Diane has been very busy with her needles and has made many of these for friends, you can see her results over at her blog. Diane also sent some toffees but somehow they are not available for viewing!! lol!!

A finish

After two days of sitting in a cool room (yay) and stitching away the quilt is finished....I finished the binding and checked it all only to find my stitches had come through on the front in one area, so some unsewing had to be done and then re sewed!! But all is good
Eve had a lovely Christmas tree here, with beautiful traditional decoration
looks amazing doesn't it!!
While watching a marathon session of A Touch of Frost.....(better than being out in the heat!!! ) I have also stitched together another two pin cushions
blogger wants to show you them on their sides!! Will need their stuffing when I get back home.
I am looking forward to the cool change today...hopefully it comes through without causing too much damage.
Happy sewin ft.

little pin cushions have been appearing at home!!! Some still need buttons...amazing how they are made the same but come out different sizes...must depend on how much stuffing I get in there!! Lol!!

And so

it continues....I have spent the day wrestling, sewing and pinning...but I am nearly there....seven more pieces to attach on one corner and the a few gaps to fill in on the other end...I can see a faint glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel!!

lots to wrestle!!!

A lady at Port Arlington group suggested I get bike clips to keep the spare fabric rolled up, I haven't found a bike shop but had a look at the quilt shop in Gisborne and found these quilt roll clips....had another wrestle to get them on but they are very useful..and keep the quilt on the table!

This is the wonderful gift I received from Ondrea ...I had a message from her saying maybe I should open the present from her not keep it under the tree ( that I still have to put up!!)..so here it all is..a lovely ginge decoration and some coasters for Christmas.  Thank you Ondrea!!
Off to do some more wrestling!!
Happy sewing.
